Giant Panda Swim Shorts

  • A pair of our beautifully-designed men's swim shorts, inspired by the endangered Giant panda.

Made from 100% polyamide - a soft, durable and quick-drying fabric. To ensure the longevity of the colors, the print has been sun, salt water, and chlorine-tested. To guarantee ultimate comfort, we have used 100% fine cotton mesh to line the inside of each pair.

The design of our swim shorts features two side-front pockets and one back pocket, and every piece of hardware we use is custom-designed, branded and nickel-free.

Included is an environmentally conscious drawstring pouch, and all packaging is made from recycled and repurposed materials.

Every element of our beautiful beach shorts is designed and hand-crafted in Europe.

Please note that the model in this photo is 190cm tall (6’2”) and is wearing size L.

  • The giant panda is a bear native to South Central China, mainly Sichuan province. It is easily recognized by the large, distinctive black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body, and its lifespan in the wild is typically around 20 years.

Though it belongs to the order Carnivora, the giant panda's diet comprises of over 99% bamboo. Due to the poor nutritional value of bamboo, pandas spend about 18 hours of their day eating.

The giant panda's paw has a "thumb" and five fingers; the "thumb" – helps it to hold and peel bamboo. Pandas may appear sedentary, but they are skilled tree-climbers and efficient swimmers. They don't establish permanent dens, don't hibernate, and rely primarily on spatial, rather than visual, memory. As a result of farming, deforestation, and other development, it has been driven out of the lowland areas where it once lived.

  • Panda Mountain is a conservation initiative focused on the Wolong Nature Reserve - China's leading home for Giant Pandas. The organisation integrates planning, conservation, education, training, community engagement and sustainable development into their work in Wolong. They work towards conserving and restoring the giant panda habitat and biodiversity by engaging the public, both visitors t and locals o protected areas and indigenous communities.

Today, an unprecedented number of species are endangered due to loss of habitat and ecological degradation across the world. In response to this dire circumstance, Panda Mountain’s habitat work is becoming a compelling story to demonstrate people can restore our degraded world, and can be positive ecological change agents.

For our Giant panda print we have partnered up with this amazing NGO and will assist them on their mission to conserve and restore the giant panda habitat. We were so inspired by their motto: "To protect and conserve the Giant Panda is to restore the balance between people and nature".

$30 from the retail price of each pair will go directly to our partners at Panda Mountain!

Rebel Size Guide

Please note that when the elastic waist band of the men's beach shorts is stretched, each size gains approximately 25 cm (or 10 inches) around the waist.

Women's beach shorts are designed to be worn at the hip bone, so when choosing your size it would be best if that is the circumferance you measure.

Recommended garment care: To make sure your Rebel print colors remain bright and vivid for as long as possible, please hand wash in warm water, line dry, and refrain from ironing.
